OUR TECHNOLOGIES

ADJUSTABLE COMPRESSION AND REBOUND

Riders can fine-tune their high + low speed compression and rebound settings to suit their individual preferences and riding style, whether navigating rough off-road terrain or carving through twisty roads.

ANTI-BOTTOMING SYSTEMS

For Adventure applications our X-TREME shock absorbers feature a Progressive Damping System II (PDSII) system and the cartridges include a hydraulic end stop.

The PDSII system features a second damping piston mounted on top of the main damping piston. At the end of the compression stroke, this extra damping piston enters a cup and creates an extra damping level. This happens only during the compression movement and only at high compression speeds.

A hydraulic end stop in the cartridges has a similar working principle where a check valve enters a cup at the end of the compression stroke.

The PDSII system and hydraulic end stop are effectively a cushion that absorbs the high compression energy and prevents hard bottoming, enhancing comfort and safety.

BIG PISTONS

In most of our shocks we use a high-flow 46 mm piston while the closed cartridge kit features a big 35 mm piston, the largest piston among all aftermarket suspension suppliers.

In addition to facilitating a high oil flow, these piston sizes enables stable and well-controlled damping behavior.

PRELOAD ADJUSTMENT

Our rear shock absorbers are available with or without Hydraulic Preload Adjuster (HPA). The HPA can be precisely adjusted up to 15 mm adjustment range.

Both cartridge legs allow preload adjustments up to 12 mm. This easy adjustment capability facilitates load compensation and optimal balance, whether carrying luggage or a passenger.

PREMIUM MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION

Each component of the suspension kit is crafted from CNC machined premium materials, ensuring durability, reliability, and long-lasting performance even in the most demanding conditions.

We use heavy duty components like induction hardened quenched & tempered 42CrMo 16 mm piston rods, high-quality bearings and stainless steel bushings.

ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIES

Drawing upon decades of experience in electronic suspension for Racing, Street and Off-road use, TracTive R&D has developed a line of Plug & Play electronic shocks featuring top-tier components and technologies.

DYNAMIC DAMPING ADJUSTMENT VALVE

The damping inside our electronic shock absorber is regulated by our patented electronic Dynamic Damping Adjustment (DDA) valve that varies the flow of oil inside the shock absorber.

This electronic valve offers a wide range of damping adjustment and can fully open and close within just 6-10 milliseconds. This is significantly faster than the original valve.

The control unit of the motorcycle does not notice electrical differences between the original damping valve and the Tractive DDA damping valve.

ELECTRIC PRELOAD ADJUSTMENT (EPA)

For BMW GS models we offer an electric preload adjuster housed in a sleek CNC machined casing that enhances durability and waterproofing. Our TracTive EPA is also fully serviceable.

Since the EPA housing matches the dimensions of the OEM BMW EPA, it won’t interfere with any luggage or accessories you attach to the rear of your motorcycle.

The TracTive EPA integrates seamlessly with the OEM control unit, allowing for easy adjustment. This ensures proper load distribution and optimal balance when carrying luggage or a passenger.
